Marseille : une expérimentation contre la chaleur dans les tramways cet été

Dix rames de tramway sont les sujets d’une expérimentation de la RTM pour lutter contre la chaleur. En effet, des bandes adhésives en vinyle ont été appliquées sur leurs baies vitrées, pour permettre de diminuer la température intérieure de ces transports. 

L’expérience  

Pour survivre à la chaleur de cet été, qui peut faire des ravages dans la cité phocéenne, la Régie des Transports Métropolitains de Marseille a lancé une expérience. Le 10 mai dernier, dix rames de tramway se sont vu poser sur leurs baies vitrées des bandes adhésives en vinyle micro-perforées, dont le design rappelle celui de persiennes.

Jusqu’à fin septembre, des relevés de chaleur seront régulièrement effectués dans les rames équipées et non-équipées sous différentes situations. Cela permettra de jauger l’efficacité de cette méthode, au premier abord plus écologique et moins couteuse que la climatisation.  

D’où est venue l’idée ? 

C’est un conducteur de tramway, ou Wattman, qui a eu cette idée. Il s’est rendu compte que la température était plus supportable dans les rames ayant des publicités sur leurs baies vitrées, et c’est ainsi qu’est né le projet des persiennes en bande adhésive.  

Une expérimentation qui pourrait s’étendre 

Si à la fin de l’expérimentation en septembre les résultats sont concluants, le projet pourrait s’étendre à l’ensemble du trafic de tramways, mais aussi aux rames de métro. Cela permettrait entre autres de limiter la consommation d’énergie engendrée par la climatisation, qui est de plus régulièrement dysfonctionnelle, au grand dam des usagers.
